Here is my maths work that I have created on my presentation and it is called Solve Addition Problems: Tidy Numbers 2. When I have first saw it I thought it would be really hard that I could not try or even ask one question . But when I have tried I just remembered that this was the Activity work that I have done with miss Clark. So I hope you will enjoy reading my Solve Addition Problems: Tidy Numbers 2.

Reading Activity 1.
Looking at the title and the image on the front page what do you think the story is about?I think the story is about something happening outside the window and that they can not sleep from the big yelling voice from outside the house.
Why was Ai Ling’s father walking inside wobbling?Because he must of got drunk and the way he had lost his money when he was gambling in a casino.
How did her mother react to her father coming home at this time? She was really pissed and she just wanted to do something to her husband and to also kick him outside the house , and Ai Ling’s mother tried to teach her husband a lesson by telling him not to waste his money on gambling and to use his money on his children.
Where had her father been, how did they feel about her father being at this place?the children’s father had been gambling at a casino and his family was not happy about how he had been really unfair to his kids by not buying any food or Items for his children.
Why was Ai’s mum banging and making as much noise as she could while putting the pots and pans away?Because she was really angry that he went gambling and not helping the family by doing the chores and not buying any food.
In what way do Ai and her mother view her father as being ‘bad’?He kept on going to the Mah-Jong place and that made Ai Ling want to run away.
Is Ai happy at home? Why/why not? How do we know this?No because she could not sleep and she just keeped on hearing yelling , Banging , and slamming when she was trying to sleep.
How can we gather that Ai’s mother was angry as a result of her father staying out late again? (Refer to the image and text)? She was really angry that she wanted to leave her husband go gambling she is just going to leave him to get hurt and it would be his fault.
Where is Ai’s mother taking her and her brother? For what reason do you think her mother is doing this?Ai’s mother was taking the children in the car to go and find her husband because he just keeped on going gambling and wasting money and they had to go to every Mah-Jong Parlour in Sibu.
Predict what you think will happen next in the story. What is your reasoning for your prediction?I think that when they try to find the husband they did not find him and just keeped on looking and looking.

A Helping Hand.
A Helping Hand
Monday:
Looking at the title of the story and image on the first page, what do you think the story might be about? A ball going far over the fence and over the fence was a big giant bull.
Share experiences about being really scared. How did you feel? How did your body react to being
really frightened? I felt really nervous running past a big dog and it was my neighbor's dog and this happened last year.
A HELPING HAND - what clues are there in this title?
Brainstorm possible characters and story problems.
A softball ball, A enormous bull,Paddock,Michelle,Karl,Sarah,Mum,Kevin.
What were Karl and Sarah looking at? Why do you think they were looking at this so closely?
Karl and Sarah was standing by the fence looking at the biggest bull.
What does the writer mean when it says “when she connected with the ball”?
It means that the person that was connecting with the ball it means that she is really good at playing softball.
What language feature is “CRACK? See if you can find any more in the story?
The language CRACK! is when Sarah hitted the ball and it made a sound of CRACK!!
What did Michelle have to get? How do you think she was feeling about having to get this? How would you feel?
Michelle had to go and get the ball that is in the Paddock with the ball. Michelle was feeling so terrified ,nervous and also scared.
There is plenty of conversation in the story - how do we know this?
Because there was a lot of speech marks in the story and that means there was a lot of speaking.
What does the word ‘uncertain’ mean? Find the definition and put the word into a sentence of your own.
Example Certain means you are 100% sure but uncertain means you are not sure of anything.
Predict what you think will happen next in the story, what is your reasoning for this?
When Michelle gets the ball in the paddock she grabs the ball and the bull chases her and she dies.
Summarise what has happened in the story so far.
Who are the characters we have been introduced to? State one fact/ or piece of information about each character. Mum,Karl,Sarah,Kevin,Mitchell, the Turners.Mum,Karl,Sarah,Kevin,Mitchell, the Turners.
Why was Michelle’s heart banging so hard against her ribs, can you tell me an example/ time in your life when you have felt the same? Where, were you? Why did you feel this way? how did you deal with it?
Michelle’s heart was banging so hard against her ribs because she thought it would burst right through.
The time of my life I was scared was when this strange was chasing after me while I was going for a walk. Up the Mountain.
I was afraid I might get bitten by that strange dog.
What does Michelle mean when she says “snail pace would be safest”?
So the snail pace can make her safe so the bull will not eat her.
The terms - “fear began to ooze out of my skin” What does the writer mean by this? The writer means the smell of the hung in the air.
What language feature is “It felt like an earthquake shaking the ground”? Write your own sentence of a comparison such as this.
As I ran across the road a big tank was riding and It felt like it was going a earthquake.
Michelle, merely escaped the altercation with the bull, how do you think she felt after she had made it out? Use examples from the text to back up your quote.
She felt afraid and freaked out like her heart was pumping
What do you suggest Michelle do now to get over the gate from the other side?
Climb over the fence or someone can help her over
What has the author done to try and make this a good story?”
Linda Dawley tryed and make the story good so when other people read the book they can be interesting.
What do YOU think of this story ? Give it a rating out of 10 and say why?
10/10 because I think the story was interesting because I was so afraid when Mitchell was going to die by the bull.
KNOWLEDGE - What are the facts
Make a list (or draw pictures with labels) of the characters in the story.
Write down words from the story that tell you something about them.
Mitchelle because people tease her with her short legs.
COMPREHENSION - Show that you understand the story
What did Karl mean when he said “That’s your question answered” ?
He Meant that who was going to help her over the gate from the other side.
Choose 3 words from the story that are new, difficult, or interesting to you.
Write a sentence for each one showing that you understand what it means.
Rustled,Pawed,Chomped,Foothold.
Make a sign to go on the gate to the bull paddock, warning people about
the behavior of this bull?
Your sign should have words and pictures to get attention.
Write a poem or a rap song about Michelle’s time in the bull paddock.
I walking down the farm I saw a bull it was chasing after and I died but then I came back alive.
ANALYSIS - Windows into the story
Give a reason why you think this is the most important event.
SYNTHESIS - Coming up with new ideas
Design something that you could wear into the bull paddock to protect
you from the bull OR some sort of invention that could get the ball back
without having to go in the paddock at all.
Label your drawings or write descriptions to explain your interesting ideas
EVALUATION - Sorting out the good from the bad
Make a list of the good things (Yellow Hat thinking) and the bad things
(Black Hat thinking) about being brave and taking dangerous risks.

The Last Days Of School..
The thing that has been happening in the last days of school is that there are some classes shifting into other Teachers classes. Next term I am so excited to shift into our new class on the field. The Builders that have built the class might of took like a whole term to built it. Mr Burt our principal of Pt England School said that the builders will bust down room 16,17,18 and also room 15 and we will move in there.
And When we all heard all that good news we s
tarted getting excited. I cant wait till the holidays because I really want to spend time with my sister,Mum,and also my cousins and my brother. I miss every single thing in school but the thing I hate so much is to run around the school every morning and I hope every single person has a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year.

My Net-Book Reflection.
I enjoy having something to learn with in class and also at home the thing that makes me learn is my Netbook and when I am in class the Teacher Mr Marks tells us to go on the Learning Year 6 site. The Significant thing I have learnt all by myself was that in paragraph’s you need to put Speech marks in the spot where the speaking and yelling in.
What I have learned with my friends was to keep on trying even thou the work you do you still need to try to succeed in what you do. This year i have learn a lot of the internet and also Google. This Term and year I have learn to use the tamaki college library on our year 6 Site.
I hope next year I will learn how to make better progress in maths, reading and writing. In the past few term’s I have learned to use Mine craft, and to solve multiplication and also division problems all by myself in class and also in and around School.

Antarctica Penguins.
WALT
Summarise the main points of the text, in my own words.
In Arctic there are no penguins in the North of the world. Antarctica Penguins are all over around the southern Ocean.
In Antarctica Penguins cannot fly but they take small wobbling steps on Ice.Antarctica Penguins stand Upright on their short legs.
In the Antarctica were the Penguins are the Temperature drops well below freezing and the sun does not raise. In Antarctica there are Icy gales that blow most of the times and it gets colder and colder.
In Antarctica a few penguins can survive by living on the Ice pack but some of them do not survive. Male Emperor Penguins stand on the pack Ice for the whole winter.
Emperor Penguins have a thick layer of fat . It helps make the cold go away and the how many blubber they have would keep them warm from freezing pack Ice.
Emperor Penguins have fluffy soft feathers that grow close to their skin. The top feathers overlap and this makes a waterproof coat .
