The term has come to an end.

Image result for End of term 42015 Term 4 has come to an end. Just about 2 weeks to wake up bright and early in the morning until the term ends. Pt England school is the school I attended for eight years and yet that eight years will be over. I have enjoyed spending my time here at P.E.S and I am also looking forward to starting High School. Team 5 is the best place to be and I enjoyed listening, Respecting, my teachers and also my team mates.

Next year I am hoping that the street in our building will have more decoration and also more detail of our education they will be learning on 2016. My 2015 learning progress was growing through out the year but I was making 10% progress in my maths but I focused and focused until I understood the meaning of what my focus was that term.

Andrew Patterson Talk.

"Andrew Patterson!" I shouted with excitement, This was the day were we had a visitor named Andrew Patterson visit our year 8's at 11:30 Am.  Mr Patterson was one of the schools best visitors, but mostly my favorite visitor. For today's program we were discussing all about how we are looking forward to  becoming a year 9 and starting college, The main focus was how we need to get ready for next year.

"Our Brain Grows!" I said with confusion, Talking about getting ready Mr Patterson explained to the year 8's how our brain grows and how it can grow stronger if you study and work hard in the amount of time you have. Playing a movie from his presentation the movie had 7 habits and those habits are Be Proactive, Begin with the end of the mind, Put first things first, Think Win-Win,  Seek first to understand, Synergize, and also sharpen the saw.

All those habits are the effective habits that mean so much more to the year 8's, Therefore it helps us determine how nervous but excited we are to attend college and strive to succeed as we reach the end of the marathon to succeed in university.

Special Time With Friends!

“On your marks get set go!” I ran with exhaustion with my teammates who were a meter away from me, it was the day of the amazing race! We got put into teams were we had to go to different kinds of obstacles, first up was the fear factor.

“Fruit salad & Spaghetti”, I thought to myself “Umm, will this be tastefully delicious, I don’t know but will see how it goes”. Munch, munch, munch, I was chewing with enthusiasm where I heard teammates cheer for my name, I could hear squeaky voices appearing through my eardrums as I continued crunching the pear cube of the  fruit salad.

From the distance ahead I could see my classmates spewing out their germy disgusting food from their mouth as they ran out the red old door to get some water. Last spoon I said to myself, “Yummy, Yum, Yum” Was the only word that came out of my mouth as everyone was outside getting some fountain fresh water.

“Gooo Mua! Shouted my classmate Alazae, “You can do this”. I was so proud of myself for going for what I have not done before and I was also proud that I ignored my fears while eating my favorite food from now on. But I  was still shocked as my teammates did not enjoy the fresh fruit salad and the canned spaghetti, But the most important thing is that I enjoyed it.

The amazing race was closing to an end and all of my emotions were sad, therefore my teammates and I will not do this again,  for the reason that this is our last term together, I really enjoyed the fear factor, because I liked the delicious food the teachers prepared for our amazing race (Fun Time).

The Voice

This week team 5 have been learning our words for the Voice which was placed on every Friday, and today was the day to do the voice. My hands were sweating and I had butterflies in my tummy and I was ready to start the voice. "Beeeppp, Beepp" The speaker beeped with excitement  and everyone's face was seriously focused, I was afraid that I will get something wrong and so I said to my self "of course I will", because I did not study that much during this week. So I took a beep breath and continued on with my test so on during the test, the test was over and I finally pressed submit.

Here is a link to the voice that Team 5 had to do! Hope you enjoy.https://sites.google.com/a/ptengland.school.nz/2015team5/

How To Prevent Yourself From Getting Sick!

How To Prevent Yourself From Getting Sick!

Winter is the time of year that many people become sick. This is for numerous reasons such as the temperature and also the amount of clothes and heat you must keep in your body. Other things that make you sick are when bugs and germs are easily spread during winter time. This explanation will explain ways to prevent yourself from getting sick.

One way to avoid yourself from getting sick is getting the flu shot , the flu shot is the flu vaccine that seems to be the best way to protect yourself from the flu that goes around you body systems and that is how the germs are spread around your system. The flu vaccine helps you because when the needle is placed in your body your body starts to fight the germs and bugs in your body.

Another way of keeping well is by washing your hands, It is important  to wash your hands because germs are spread by 5 common ways, and those common ways are hands, mouths, nose, eyes, and also your ears.

Germs can be spread to the hands by coughing, sneezing, or maybe even rubbing the eyes and then can be transferred to family members or even people from school like friends & teachers.

Explaining all the ways to prevent yourself from getting sick,  the flu shot is one of the examples for you to think about during your life but if you are feeling sick then that means  germs in your body can go away if you get your immunization done/flu shot done.

What I have Learnt This Week.

This Week, Week 7 I have been learning about "How To prevent yourself from getting sick". This Topic is all about Winter, which has past, How to prevent yourself from getting sick, Is the way we learn by identifying the features of explanation writing . Identifying is the way we explain how to prevent yourself from getting sick, for example Washing your hands, using the hand sanitary helps the germs and bugs disappear from your body system.

Every single system from your body has a cent of germs, and that is the reason why washing your hands recently is the most important thing everyone in the world needs to do. How to prevent yourself from getting sick is basically all around the world, For the reason that every single human in the world needs to know the ways to  become well and healthy.

Words Travel Fast.

Here is a image about Smart Foot Print. This picture will show you how you need to be careful of what you search online. Miss Kyla has been our visitor to come and talk to us about being careful in what you search because when you search up something like the Hunger Games and you delete it from the history everyone can still see your history even tho you have erased it,  Because every single move you make online you leave a digital footprint.

Immersion Assembly.

On the 20th of July Pt England School had an Immersion Assembly on the first day off school. In the Immersion Assembly Mr Burt was Trading and Enterprise$e . Early in the morning Mrs Nua and also the prefects were handing out mini cards with numbers on it so that when you want what is about to be sold you must put up your card at every single price. From team 5 Shelford was the one that won my favorite thing and that was a basketball the reason why I did not win it was because I did not have a number card.

During assemble I really enjoyed my-self and I was also happy the the teams production during the assembly. My favorite team had got to be Team 3 because they were studying about Ice-Cream , The most important reason why I love that team is because they will be making the Ice-Cream during school time.

Open Expo.

Image result for open expoMy favorite creativity for me had to be the INSTRUMENTOS group. The reason why they were the best group was because they thought that they would paint the netball/basketball courts, for the reason that said that it did not look too perfect because when the visitors walk past there will be no colour the court would be plain grey.

Greetings to you all and welcome to my blog. On Friday the 3rd of July there was an open Expo day in the team 5 building inside the street. Other classes from our school came to visit us and check out what we have been up too.  The younger students around our area really enjoyed our work and also enjoyed what we have created for Tinkering Tools & Toys. While students were visiting they really enjoyed themselves and that was what pleased me, by the looks on their faces they really enjoyed our creations of our creativity. On the Expo day there were many many things you could possible think of when creating something.

Historic Mansion

mansion
Historic Mansion!

In the 1860’s, Samuel Ouerbacker built this Historic Mansion in Kentucky,But there’s more things you may need to find out. For a $1 historic mansion may sound unbelievable but there is a chance that it may be haunted, It’s a catch.

The mansion isn’t really in the greatest condition. As the mansion stands, some parts fall apart. The background of the histrionic is that it stands across from a cemetery. The hope is that it would be bought by someone that is willing to put the time and also the money into restoring the mansion.

Nearby Residents dare to say the the mansion is haunted, it does look creepy!. The mansion was used by a tax company but later on it went up for auction. Despite his plan to restore the mansion to it’s former glory, but he left the mansion in ruins.

Future Aspirations

On the 20th of May Pt England School Team 5 got to see important and also famous visitors, And those visitors are Marcus Winter (AKA) The Sandman, Louis Gordon Latty (AKA) Basketball player & also the introducer Andrew Patterson. Marcus Winter works his Magic, using sand, light and also sound to produce a live performing in huge crew ship and to also preform in our town city Queens ST.

Louis Gorden Latty is a famous internet man which entertains others online. Louis has a great imagination, for the reason that he wants to be a famous basketball player just like Micheal Jordan. Louis Gorden Latty gave out a lot off quotes which was Aim high, People will never forget how you made them feel, and also how you made them smile.

The most interesting thing that stood out for me was that quote that Marcus gave us and that quote was  (keep doing what makes you awesome). The reason why I like this quote is because when you need to show you're awesome'st you need to stand out to people and believe in what you dream even though it is not impossible.

Te Oro Opening Center.

As you all know there was  an opening of the Te- Oro building. The opening was on the 9th of May in Glen-Innes. As you may know or may not know my uncle Petelo Eseikelu was the owner off the whole building. As I was part of his whanau roots  I had to walk around asking people if they would like to sign up for the free workshops and they can also bring their children along and the volunteers that are helping out the roots, they can help the children get more creative.
So I ran along the side lines asking some people and so far for the  past 2 hours I finally filled up my page off signups . I quickly returned the clip board that the sign up papers were on, and ran to the dancing studio so I can learn how to dance and learn how to break dance.
Well I was walking I saw a Shortland Street actor named Jarod, that seemed to be Pixies dad. I screamed with excitement and asked for his autograph, and there it was his autograph on my arm and also written on a piece of paper. On the piece of paper it said For Mua, Your The Most Awesome ST!, (Mo Hannah), :-) Jarod, Pixie's dad, and also his signature. I was emotional frustrated with awesomeness that I took a selfie with Pixie's dad , Jarod. So on I continued on my day walking around to see if anybody needed help to find their way around the Music and art center, Te Oro building.
So the day went on and the Te Oro building was closing down for the reason that it was getting dark, So I helped pack up the roots creative things and packed them along in the truck the co-proctor owned. I was so happy that I had Jarod's autograph on my arm and I also got a selfie with him.

Here are the Selfless I took with the Shortland Street Actor, (George Nepia Jarod), and also the piece of paper he wrote for me!!!!.

(Tools) Hard Material. Tamaki College

Steel Rule:
This ruler is used to draw a straight when you are doing some kind of art Material, that you are creating on a paper to a piece of wood.

Tri-Square:
A Tri-Square is exactly like a Steel rule but a different shape and has a handle unlike a ruler with no handle. A tri-square is used to mark on the side, edge of wood.

Marking Gauge:
A Marking gauge is used to mark a line on a piece of wood so that when you are ready to cut the wood when you are using a Backed Saw, so that you know where and which line to cut of on the wood.

Backed Saw:
A backed saw is used to cut of wood when you need the piece of the wood but you do not want the other piece. Backed Saw is important for the reason that it is the main thing that wood is cut by.

Wood Chisel:
A wood chisel is a tool with a characteristically shaped cutting edge, such that wood chisels have lent part of their name to a particular grind, Of blade on it’s end, for carving or cutting a hard material such as wood, stone, or metal by hand, struck with a mallet.

Bench Hook
A bench hook is a workbench accessory used in woodworking. The purpose of the bench hook is to provide a stop which a piece of wood being worked can be placed against to hold it steady whilst cutting, planing, or chiseling that piece of wood.

Mallet:

Wooden mallet, usually used in carpentry to knock wooden pieces together, or to drive dowels or chisels. A wooden mallet will not deform the striking end of a metal tool, as most metal hammers would, and it also reduces the force required to drive the cutting edge of a chisel
